Solar Winds *used* to be very good, but I haven't worked with their products (aside from their free subnet calculator, which is really handy) in a very long time.
Why the hate? I have an ancient version of Kiwi Syslog that's still running and doing its job very well - cost was ~$99.00 back in 2002 or 2003, IIRC.
