Yep Tried that.

Say for example home network, using opendns to block the kiddies from
accessing nasties, so DHCP gives out open DNS addresses.

So for me I want to have static for firewall and nat rules on my laptop,
and non open dns servers.

If I set this on the adapter, then that is the settings it uses for any
wireless network.

If I set the adapter to dynamic, and the static as an alternative, then on
home network it picks up the DHCP an voila no alternative.

I believe this is by design, as the alternative kicks in when there is no
DHCP server.

On My Iphone.

I can set

Wireless1
DHCP for IP and manual DNS.

Wireless2
DHCP all through.

Wireless3 Static.

And so on and so forth.

Who would have thought that a phone would have better networking support
than Windows

Graeme
