Yes, educational specific software. A combination of it hasn't been updated in a while and the edu software makers are often way behind the times.

An MSI written to Microsoft standards will detect it is running on a TS/RDS/CTX server and auto switch in and out of install mode as needed. I don't trust it so I still do it manually.
