Thanks. Still having no success with a browser, I tried their VT uploader program and after a couple immediate failures got it to check the signature of a file and tell me it was already analyzed, and also got a smaller file to upload. But with the file I actually want to analyze (2.6MB PDF file that came attached to an unsolicited message from an unknown person recently) the upload times out at 50% or less.
