Wasn't there one that screwed up the NTFS system on some machines a couple years ago...compression or reset ACL's some such thing?

I had one in 2006 or 2007 which was XML related and impacted BES. Oh, and I had a machine with a Vista SP1 issue. Maybe 2, but again not widespread. We have ~1500 servers here and monthly patch them all over the last few years and whenever some developer 'claims' it's 'the patch' after MS involvement we have always found no, no it's not. Even this one does not seem to be a general thing and more towards HTTPS web servers that are not responding as expected. It will take a while for the full scope on this one to come out. I wonder where the common thread is that is causing only some of the HTTPS web servers to have issues and not all. Could it be that those servers have already been compromised or are they running a specific version of some software that is not playing well? Ours was the patch that reset OCS which was a few years ago. It had a limited impact. Since then we've had no patches which nuked anything. (Disclaimer, we can only put approved patches on certain telecom servers by contract so who knows).
