Haven't tried it myself but a co-worker uses Media Monkey for this.

Subject: OT: Magic music software

This is the longest of long shots, but knowing how nifty Shazam is for
the IPhone at identifying songs, I don't suppose (my Googling is drawing
a blank) there's any kind of software out there that can peruse your mp3
collection, identify the tunes and correct all the tags for you (artist,
year, album, etc.)? This is on my PC, no doubt ITunes probably does this
by reading your mind or something, but that's not an option.

Going through 40GB of files one by one doesn't appeal, but I've got a
mysterious feeling that somewhere in my future this is going to happen
:-) I'm using MP3 Tag Tools which makes it slightly easier, but not
vastly.

TIA for any possible miraculous help,

JRR
