Well, everything always depends on the details. If you've got a lot of Microsoft infrastructure -- especially virtualization and DNS -- I'd say it's a pretty good idea. Otherwise you can get into chicken-and-egg problems on a site-wide cold start. If that stuff isn't dependent on your AD DC (e.g., you're running VMware and BIND) it doesn't matter so much.
