  I haven't seen the inside of FPP Vista yet, but I've never seen an
FPP of an earlier Windows which had such a thing.  The Win XP Pro
Upgrade FPP boxes I have, for example, has the COA (Certificate of
Authenticity) on the outside of the box, and the Product Key on a
yellow sticker on the folder the CD comes in.

  According to a copy of the Vista EULA I found with Google, "You may
uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use."

  Are you sure you're not confusing this with the OEM kits?  As you
hinted at, they are married to the machine they come with, and do
indeed come with a little sticker the OEM is supposed to affix to the
hardware being sold.
