I've tried that Guido.  In order for it to uninstall, it wants the
original .msi that was used for installation, and I don't have that.
I'm going to be calling Symantec support this morning to see what they
suggest.  Worst case, I have the manual uninstallation instructions from
Symantec, and will also be looking at 3rd party uninstallers...

I don't remember that the client need the source.
I uninstalled client SAV even from outside the network  .the password is
cached.
In any case if you try to install from the client using the vphome
folder on the server it will do the task.

  The Windows Installer wants the MSI file(s) from the original
installation CD/download/whatever.  If you've lost yours, see if you can
track down the serial number, and then use that to log-in to Symantec's
download website.
I think you can still download the old versions even if newer stuff is
out.
