I have a handful of msi’s installing via GPO. I put then on a server share instead of a DFS. Now I need to move them. The old server will be retired but I would prefer not to reuse the servername. I used the netbios name, and have functioning WINS running. While there are not many policies I don’t want them to redeploy if I remake them. CNAME the old server in dns name to the new one and add a static for the old name in WINS to the new IP? Looks like the migration tool will help me clean this up but some redirection sounds easier. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
