The limitation for other vss writers, such as exchange and SQL and SQL is much higher - 512, I believe. But, these limitations are imposed by the authors of the vss writers, not dpm. I'm not sure why its taken so long for the fily system guys to update their writers, but this has been known for quite a while. The way I get around it is with a secondary dpm server that takes weekly backups of the primary. That way, I have 60 days of daily restore points and 60 weeks of weekly restore points.
