I have little knowledge of Lync, but we have a Lync installation in
house (no edge server or connection yet), and I'm noticing that the
Lync client doesn't work over the DA tunnels..

This link says it doesn't work
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ocsclients/thread/6e60f10e-01e8-4cb4-afe9-7ed77fef6a7c/

And while this seems to say something similar, what the author seems
to be doing is setting up an exception for name resolution to reach an
external/edge Lync connection.

Ditto this:

Am I reading this correctly?

That being said, UAG can publish Lync 2010, though I don't know how
useful that would be for us, as it doesn’t seem to apply to IM, though
I could be mistaken:

Has anyone here published Lync through UAG, and can tell me if that
works, especially with the IM - because that's all we're really using
it for at the moment.
