We are doing some testing with Mountain Lion and have found that a Remote Access IPSec VPN that uses shared secret machine authentication works as it did in OSx10.7 but Remote Access IPSec VPN that uses certificate based machine authentication no longer functions. We've made no changes to the VPN config on the firewall and set up the OSx10.8 client the same way we did in OSx10.7. When looking at the client side logs we can see the vpn connection breaks down trying to establish phase 1 but I can't figure out why. Has anyone else run across this?
