Hi Looking to change our backup software and are open to recommendations Our servers are a range of Windows 2000 2003 with Exchange 2003 and a couple of version of Microsoft Sql server 2000 and 2005 We were looking at Symantec backup exec These machine will have a dedicated backup server and an lto5 tape drive We will backup to disk and then to tape (we have a requirement for an off site tape backup so this must remain) The backup will easily fit on 1 lto 5 tape and with data volumes this should be ok for 2-3 years HOWEVER We also have 2 IBM AIX servers running version 4.3.3 and version 5.1 These will backup again to a dedicated server with an ultrium 5 tape drive The IBM servers cant be upgraded! Looking for a "supported" solution We looked at backupexec and netbackup however only Older an now none supported version will work with our Aix versions the new version "may" work but would be unsupported!
