If he's that big of a contact, you may want to just do this yourself (have him bring in the machine or go there). Depending on the tool used, he could totally hose the machine, then he's going to be looking for an answer as to why you didn't know his disk was encrypted (his kid thought it would be cool to do . . . Had one of those last year), or some other option he picked went awry.
