Not that I'm aware of, unless it's already there in the GPO. For
example.... say you are interested in setting this type of information on
the Cluster service on a Windows box, call it SRV1. You don't have the
cluster service installed on your domain controller where you manage GPO
from, call it SRV3. You could install the cluster service on a 3rd box,
call it SRV3, and from that box install the GPMC and create/modify the
GPO. Once the GPO is created/modified, you can see that service on any
box running the GPMC, the "service name" will looking different than it
does on a box where the service is installed. I think you see the "service
name" not the "display name" , but you can manage it.

It seems like a lot of trouble, but it does work. I would personally just
install the GPMC on the box that has the service installed, then when done
with the GPO, remove the GPMC if you feel it's necessary.

Subject: GPO manage a service that's not on machine with GPMC

Is there a way to configure a service via GPO when the services doesn’t
exist on the system running the GPO management tool? I’ve always done it
but putting GPMC on a system with said service (or put said
software/service on the machine with GPMC).
