Overview
GFI Software is very pleased to announce the Beta 4 release of VIPRE Business
and VIPRE Business Premium version 6.0.
This beta is a cumulative rollup of the previous betas, and consists of updates
for the management console, as well as the VIPRE agent software for Windows and
Android platforms.
The version numbers for Beta 4 are as follows:
Management console: 6.0.5184 (NEW!)
Windows agent: 6.0.5469 (NEW!)
Android agent: 2.0.2 (NEW!)
Mac OSX agent: 2.0.56
Bug Fixes and Improvements in Beta 4
Corrected an issue where the database upgrade utility may generate an
unhandled exception error
Corrected an issue where upgrading agents from version 5.0 to 6.0 could
fail, unless the "Install existing agent" selection was used
Corrected an issue where the VIPRE Business Site Service may unexpectedly
stop after adding a mobile device agent
Corrected an issue that could cause the configuration wizard to stop
responding
Corrected an issue where disabling Email Protection may not disable the
Outlook plugin
Corrected an issue where installing/reinstalling agents with a status of
"Not Installed" may not work
Corrected an issue where two reboot messages may simultaneously appear
Corrected an issue on Android devices where lost device alarm may not
disable if the lock screen is set to none
Corrected an issue where the agent version number was incorrectly labeled
during installation
Corrected an issue that prevented agents from being automatically re-added
to console if removed, but not uninstalled from the endpoint
Corrected an issue where Win32 deployment failures were not displayed in
the console
Corrected an issue where deployment credential verification may improperly
fail
Removed the "Logged In User" field from the Unprotected Computers section
Corrected an issue where unprotected computers with a status of "Install
Now" still required valid credentials
Corrected an issue where policies may not be displayed if a "VSS Start
Message" dialog is raised, but not dismissed during service startup
Corrected an issue in the Report Viewer where grids were misaligned
Corrected an issue where the "Threat Definitions Installed" widget also
included unprotected computers
Corrected an issue where Audit Trail displayed

Corrected an issue where agent anti-rootkit drivers may fail to load after
upgrade
Corrected an issue where definitions may attempt to update every second
after removing other third-party antivirus products (Incompatible Software
Removal)
Corrected an issue that could result in subsequent version 6 agent software
updates to fail
Added ability to configure email alerts for Android devices
Improved the behavior of diagnostic utilities
Added option during upgrade and configuration wizard to configure Patch
Management settings*
Corrected an issue where patch remediation would not occur if Patch
Scanning and Patch Installation time were the same*
Corrected an issue where "Needs Reboot" indicator may be improperly set
during patch installation*
Corrected an issue where patch management definitions may not update*
