Why should people have to "figure it out"? Shutdown, Restart, Logoff, Sleep, Standby, Hibernate were all in one place before, and it worked for all the hundreds of millions of people using Windows. Why change it?

They just click on the X and disconnect (so us admins have to configure session timeouts etc to eventually log off the session). So no changes in that area for Server 2012 for the users imo. I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old that were placed in front of Windows 8 and were installing apps from the store, playing games etc without any tuition. It's just too late and we would get a lot of negative feedback. Also we tend to hold off on such deployments until the product has a little shake-down time and we get a break to do upgrades. Personally, I'm not looking forward to 8 on the desktop in a lab environment. One nitpick of my own: It's very difficult to log off, which is something every 7-18 year old in our schools will have to do. While some know that you can quickly find a logout with Ctrl-Alt-Del, most don't. Last, most of the software run by our users aren't in the DCIM* interface. So really, there isn't a feature that is yet pushing us to Win8 yet. I have seen start-button replacements, like Start8, but we like to go with the Officially supported versions of things if we can.
