That's one way to do it.

I just add the new version to the GPO - the GPO will show that 8.1.2
will upgrade 8.1.1.

At one point I had 4 different versions of Acrobat Reader listed in my
software installation GPO (7.0.9 -> 8.0 -> 8.1 -> 8.1.1), and the
affected machines always installed just the latest version.
