"are you doing this on a test box(es) ? Can you post your results?"

That's exactly what I was thinking... I guess it will replace all the
ACLs, not add to them. So I am diffedently going to test. I will share
:)

I can tell you for sure, but I believe you are correct (there may be
some ambiguity between localcomputer\users and authenticated users).

I am curious to see what the actual change is, are you doing this on a
test box(es) ? Can you post your results?

Thanks

troy

Troy, do you know what the ACL Number Definition for the XP Built in
user group of 'Users' is?

http://www.windowsitpro.com/Files/20047/table_02.html

It's not really clear in this list, but I would assume 21-23?

I can't find any info on permission changes with reg.exe

But you got me on the right track. I just found a WinIT pro article on
how to do with this with REGINI.exe.

Thanks for your input Troy,

Sam

Either one is pretty easy.

Most of my registry changes are via script so I can apply onesie twosie
but then when everybody needs to take the hit I set it up to run at
login for users.

Use reg.exe /? From the command line and explore that app.
