Thanks chaps, but are there any known reasons why Macs wont connect to a
windows based VPN ?

I can't find anything definite, just "well macs are shi**", which is
true, but doesn't help.

Never say never when it comes to viruses.

A number of years ago, I was taking a class at the local community
college online. At the intro meeting one of the students asked about
getting a virus or something like that, and the instructor stated that
we would be uploading our documents as Microsoft Word documents and that
they couldn't get a virus in a Word document. A few days later, the
first MS Word macro virus was found. I thought it was rather humorous.

FYI, I believe they can be vectors for viruses though.

I hate them too. Look on the bright side! They are secure in the
ultimate as they simply don't talk to MS networks properly!!! No chance
of it ever being hacked or getting a virus. Nothing including the user
can get to it!!!

Joined the club of those that dislike Mac's?

You can't get rid of them only avoid them. ;>

What is it with Macs and connecting to VPNs based on 2003?!?! Macs work
fine on the network, the encryption that they hate so much is turned
off. Take them away, and they appear to connect but can't do bugger-all
!!! Never a problem with Windows laptops, no, never. Always, ALWAYS with
*********g MACS!!!

Thanks
