Site1 and Site2 are connected via MPLS, both are in MyDomain, both have 2k3 AD controllers that are aware of each other.
On win2k3 manchine \\rebecca <file://///rebecca>, a fully bona fide member of MyDomain, logged on as "Administrator.MyDomain". when we go to Explorer, under Network, MyDomain, only the Site1's MyDomain members are visible. The appended suffix in the TCP/IP setup, DNS tab, is MyCompany.local. (The MyCompany.local DNS table includes the names and IPs of all MyCompany computers, site1 and site2) Typing \\Slot3 <file://///Slot3> (a Site2 machine) into the explorer address field, enables the connection to Slot3 and makes "Slot3" appear under MyDomain, in the folder structure of the left pane. It does appear, therefore, that there is some distinction between MyDomainin Site1and MyDomain in Site2. I am trying to find the source of this distinction. Could anyone give us a clue or two? What might I be missing? Thanks -- -- G.
