My first experience with NetWare was 2.x, oh the joys of building a networking floppy that differed from computer to computer depending on what NIC the machine had. My first home network was LANtastic on DOS. Coax thin ethernet, never had to deal with Thick Ethernet. I remember when Windows for Workgroups 3.11 was released with the express purpose of breaking LANtastic; that started my lifelong "love" for all things Microsoft. I got my first computer log-in in the fall of 1970, but I remember my dad having a 110-baud modem in the family room earlier than that ... > And sometimes we didn't even have 1's... ;-) Yeah, and we carved our own ICs out of wood.
