A couple of things I can think of: 1) Try to use diskcopy a: a: to copy disk 29 to another (good) disk. It might take a while, but you can try to use the copy if it works. 2) Chkdsk a: /r on disk 29 to see if it can recover. I wouldn't do this one until you are out of other options though. Of course, if sector 0 is toast, this won't help.
