I've gotta say... While Senator Stevens is clearly pretty clueless about
the Internet, his analogy actually wasn't that far off. We regularly use
the exact same "tube" imagery, using words like "bottleneck" and
"pipeline." By "tubes", he apparently meant systems with finite
capacity-which is exactly what the Internet consists of.
