  In terms of security and malware defense, Power User =
Administrator.  Power User restrictions just get in the way of honest
users, without really adding any real security.

  User equipment/software isn't permitted to be installed with or on
company equipment without special permission, and that's rarely given.

  I also don't want to get in to the business of supporting 8
different brands and 102 different models of printer, all with their
own drivers and issues.

  For printers, I tell them if they can get a manager's sign-off,
we'll buy a printer for them for home.  If they can't justify it to
their boss, apparently they don't need it that badly.  (For big wigs,
I just buy a printer for them.)
