Subject: SBS help

Hi,

I have bought a new HP ML110 server. It has been installed with a retail
version of SBS2003 standard.

I have had to rebuild the server once because of the same fault that it is now
exibiting.

I have tracked it down to a few points. DNS service will start, but refuses to
load the dns zones and gives the following error.

"The DNS server was unable to open Active Directory. This DNS server is
configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone and
is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is
functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error code."

This in turn makes the server unable to act as a server.

Other events in the logs are:

Process INETINFO.EXE (PID=1460). Topology Discovery failed, error 0x80040931.

The Security System detected an authentication error for the server STOOF\HEX$.
The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "The attempted
logon is invalid. This is either due to a bad username or authentication
information.
 (0xc000006d)".

The internal domain is stoof.local and the sbs server is called Hex.

The server has not been changed in anyway but this is now the 2nd time its
happened and I cannot figure out whats going on with it.
