But what's the change rate on that data? I find that in many orgs, a lot of data is quiescent. In other words, files which have been written and are not going to change again, or will not do so any time soon. Such files can be backed up once separately, e.g., to an archive tape (or multiple tapes), and then you can exclude them from the regular backup set. Of course, handling the above requires more intelligence than NTBACKUP provides.
