You might also try the trick for showing hidden devices to make sure it's 
completely uninstalled:

Cmd
Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
Devmgmt.msc

In the device manager, select view, show hidden devices.

I've seen times where something doesn't really remove completely and therefore 
doesn't reinstall/redetect correctly.
