I did a robocopy of a Vista hard drive to back it up. Vista has those
new things junctions or symbolic links - whaterver they are. Anyway,
when I did the robocopy I wound up with directories like
c:\Users\username\Appication Data\Application Data\Application Data\....
That is, the application data folder repeats creating a huge tree of
application datas within application datas. I'd like to prune off all
the excess application datas but deleting with normal windows commands
fails to delete them because the path name is so long. I've tried a
regular delete which would put them in the recycle bin and a shift
delete which should axe them without recycling. In the past I've been
able to delete corrupt directories with RD /S but even that won't work.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you have on how to get rid of these
excess directories.
