Couple suggestions: if the students have to log in, disallow reboot/shutdown via GPO. Or, get thin clients. No such thing as safe mode in the thin clients I use (Wyse). Users of thin clients cannot manipulate the OS either since it is locked down.
>>> "John Hornbuckle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 4/18/2008 10:42 AM >>> We've got some students who are booting machines in Safe Mode with Networking Support in order to get around the monitoring software we use. Their goal is to be able to surf the web without being watched, which this allows. Classroom management is certainly an issue here, and I agree that teachers need to closely watch the kids. And I understand the argument about technology not being a solution to behavioral problems, and am not really interested in going through that debate right now. :-) So, is there a way for us to disable the Safe Mode with Networking Support boot option? I don't need to disable regular Safe Mode--just the option with Networking Support.
