I use Robocopy to backup files from our server. I have a scheduled job for each day of the week backing up to a folder for that day (Mon, Tue, etc.) on a USB drive. I have two drives in weekly rotation and take the one not being used off site. This works very well for me as it's simple, has a 10 day history and leaves backup files in an easily accessible state. It also completes the job quickly as it works incrementally from the previous weekday's backup. The downside is I have 5 times the backup volume of the server on this disk, so I need to take the next step in efficiency as I will run out of space before too long.
>From a previous thread today I saw something called rdiff-backup, and it looked perfect as the next level I would like to go to, but, it's not for Windows. Some Googling shows SyncBackSE that looks promising and at $30 the price is right. But before I go installing a bunch of demo's I thought I would see if anyone here uses something simple and along these lines that they think is the bomb. -- Mike Gill ~ Upgrade to Next Generation Antispam/Antivirus with Ninja! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbelt-software.com/SunbeltMessagingNinja.cfm> ~
