I don't understand the question.

OWA 2003 is a .Net 1.1 application. It does not use .Net 3.5. You cannot
remove .Net 1.1. That would be a breaking change.

In general, minimize the attack surface. Don't install what you don't need.

Subject: .net 3.5 and Exchange 2003 OWA

Hello gang,

I would like to add .net 3.5 to my Exchange 2003 OWA box to get more mileage
(read services) out of it. I have done some research and that doesn't seem
to be an issue (unless I missed something), but I still wanted to confirm
two points:

a) Installing .net 3.5 isn't going to break Exchange 2003 OWA.

b) I run OWA in a FE-BE topology. Does that mean I need to install .net on
both boxes, or is it going to run totally independent from OWA and can
therefore be installed on the FE only ?

Thanks in advance.

Eric
