You need to start providing more information. I looked through the previous thread and you said: " so I decided to look at some other logs. In one I discovered that the DC's hadn't replicated in a month"
a) What log did you look in? b) What did you see (exactly)? c) What isn't replicating? AD? Sysvol? d) Is this a two-way, or one-way replication problem? Etc Then you said: " the Domain thinks the FISMO roles are invalid" a) How did you come to this conclusion? What are you seeing? b) What do you mean by FSMO roles are "invalid"? They can't be contacted? They point to non-existant servers? Now you are saying "I am seeing errors 1753 and 1256" a) Where are you seeing these errors? b) Is there any accompanying error text? I would also ask: a) what are you seeing in the Windows Event Logs on each DC? In particular what are you seeing the Directory Services event log, the FRS event log and the DNS event log? b) If you break out Replmon, what do you see? Etc We need a lot more information please! > When I run a "netdiag" I get a "[FATAL} Could not open > C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\netlogon.dns for reading. [FATAL} no DNS > servers have the DNS records for this DC registered." errors. When I > look in DNS on both servers, I can see records for both DC's. Are you using AD integrated DNS zones for your domain? Does that file exist in that location on either DNS server? Are you using any DNS servers that do not support dynamic updates?
