SCE is built, partly, on top of WSUS. The nice part is you can still access the WSUS console if necessary for doing WSUS housecleaning (like removing updates that are no longer needed). SCE makes WSUS much more functional in that it uses it for pushing applications as well as updates, and it supports both EXE and MSI files. So no more converting EXEs to MSI just so you can push them out via Group Policy. Also, it pushes those apps out in the background just like WSUS so you can push a copy of Office 2007 (or any of your other favorite large programs) across a WAN. It might take 10 days before it is ready to install, but it won't start installing until the entire package has reached the remote computer. Very nice for those of us in distributed environments. TVK
