Sysvol uses junction points to manage a single instance store. Junction points are also referred to as reparse points (directory junctions and volume mount points). If you dir a drive mapped to \\shortname\netogon you can see this clearly in a command prompt represented as <Junction> ad.domain.name http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324175 explains it fairly well. "\SYSVOL\sysvol\example.com\SCRIPTS" doesn't resolve to anything (yes, I replaced example.com ;-)) I haven't had a chance to try using that link in my login script yet. I did find an old script in that folder that references %0\..\scriptname SO if I put my utility (IfMember.EXE) in that folder above, and then in the login script reference it as "%0\..\IfMember domain-name\groupname", it should theoretically do what I want it to do ....
