Paying for Opera?
I think it must've been 1993 since you've tried it. http://www.opera.com/download/ From: Eric E Eskam [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 3:25 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: Firefox 3.0 Download Day "Rod Trent" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote on 06/17/2008 10:08:14 AM: > I know, I know. Just because they aren't drinking your kool-aid doesn't make them irrelevant :) > Plus, I've never had much luck with Firefox, so I don't see the benefit. > It's slow, eats away at memory, etc. IE eats away at memory - the problem is it's embedded in the OS so you just can't see it as easily. As for speed, between noscript and adblock, FFX absolutely spanks IE hands down on performance. And not just at throwing pixels at the screen, but in filtering out crap I'm not interested in. It's a shock for me to surf with a browser other then firefox these days since I'm so used to surfing with certain extensions. If IE (or Safari on the Mac - same issues) had the plugins that provided functionality that I can get from Firefox, I would probably just stick with the "default" too. Once you have had a better experience, it's hard to except the mediocre status quo :-) > Now, Opera, on the other hand. No hype. Great product. That's the only > 3rd party browser I would recommend. Well, now we are back to personal preference. Can't stand Opera's interface. And paying for a browser? How 1993 :-) Eric Eskam =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The contents of this message are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government "The human mind treats a new idea the same way the body treats a strange protein; it rejects it." - P.
