I bet something is wrong, then. </snarky> What's the error message? What compression program, version, and format? What OS, release, and service pack? Did you compress the file on the one computer, copy it to the other, and then attempt decompressing? If so, what if you attempt decompressing (or testing) on the source computer? Maybe the compressed file was never any good to begin with.
