Have you double-checked no one restricted the accounts User's Logon
hours??

It's not clear from your post, does the service ever start by itself
without intervention?

What privileges and user rights does this service account have on the
system[s] it runs a service on?

Greetings!

This may be a bit weird, but...

We are in the process of having a VOIP system installed. This system is

completely software-driven, that is, there is no proprietry switch
involved. It runs on Windows2003 Server.

There is an administrator account which must be a domain member but NOT
a
domain administrator. The servers are in the domain, which is Win2003
AD.
There is a critical service which must be started under this account.
It
is set to start up automatically.

Overnight, something bad happens, and it seems to be consistant. During

the day, this service can be stopped and started with no problem.
However,
the next day, if the service is stopped (or the system re-booted for
some
reason), the automatic service will not start...

This local administrator must log into the console, select the service,
and start it manually. The administrator is then prompted for the user
name and password. Then it starts (and can be re-started for the rest
of
the day...).

We're not finding anything obvious in the event logs. Any hints or
ideas?

Thanks!
