The other suggestions about starting the VPN before login are good. Sometimes 
that's not always practical, though. So what I've done is to provide a copy of 
the login script, or at least the drive mapping part, as a .bat file on the 
desktop. If they're working offline and realize they need to connect, they can 
make the connection, run the batch file, and have their drives mapped.
