Also keeps things free. I love my GrandCentral. Still staying away from
Chrome though.

"... before final release..." - I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
GMail that's been out for I believe at least 4 years is still "beta." No,
it is not really beta by my definition, but either Google has forgotten to
update the graphic, or more likely they never plan to come out of beta. And
it still lacks quite a bit of functionality compare to many mature mail apps
(not, however, to belittle the good features that they have that others
lack). Same goes for many other offerings: It seems like they roll out a
promising app, but it remains as such with only minor incremental updates.

But with the browser's missing functionality will probably be plugged up by
3rd party just like FF has...

If you call 2 years ago "just released"...then yes it was just released. It
was released fall of 2006. And I found Chrome to be no faster than IE8, add
in the lack of RSS features and it is DOA in my opinion. That said, I'm
certain that Google will add additional features before final release, but
their feature set right now is really lacking.

Except that it's about 20x as fast and uses less than 1/2 the memory. Did
anyone notice the "Task Manager" in Chrome? That's what I call going for
the jugular.

The more Microsoft tries to prove that they "get it" the further they fall
behind. Wasn't IE7 just released? Was that just a gigantic "Oops" or
another MS fart into the wind?
