Thanks, all.

Yes, Intuit told me we needed Enterprise edition. Interesting that Pro could
also work, but is not supported.

Intuit also told me that they have not tested QBES 8.0 with W2K8 yet so they
recommend W2K3 for now. Probably QBES 9.0 will be supported on W2K8.

Conversations with Microsoft and our SPLA reseller (HP -- very good customer
service for SPLA questions) reveal that TS is an "authenticated" use of
Windows, so web edition will not work. It's only for unauthenticated
connections. However, Standard, Enterprise or Datacenter Editions will work.

Thanks for clarifying the need for TS CALs in addition to OS CALs too.

I don't use Enterprise version of QB and it works on my TS server.
Quickbooks Pro 2008 3 user. There are some annoying quirks with messages and
pop-ups though.

There is a difference between what works and what is supported. For
customers, I would rather go with supported. Just my own personal preference.

This is the conversation I had with the Quickbooks people:

you: What version of Quickbooks do I need to work in a Terminal Server/Citrix
environment?
Jasper: I'll be more than happy to assist you on that.
Jasper: The version that you would need is the QuickBooks Enterprise
Solutions Edition.
Jasper: This is the only QuickBooks that is compatible with a terminal server.
