Is their support any good in case I run into any issues? ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom Miller To: NT System Admin Issues Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 9:07 AM Subject: Re: Firewalls
We use Fortinet 300A units here at HQ and some 50B units at broadband sites. I use a VPN tunnel for the small remote sites that are not on a WAN. Works well from web-interface or cli. You can subscribe to content filtering, anti-virus (for HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, IMAP and POP traffic), as well as intrusion prevention. I put these up several years ago and our internal desktop virus rate is now almost zero. Also allows for very granular policies. I had heard a while back that sonicwall made a solid box and had somewhat decent support. Well, I bought a Sonicwall NSA 2400 and had to send back for a replacement because it would freeze up every few minutes right out of the box. The replacement I got gets DNS errors in the content filter after working for just a few minutes. Their support is practically non existent and I've had it, the Sonicwall is going bye-bye. What else is similar out there with some kind of decent support? Netscreen perhaps? Any suggestions what to take a look at? I really don't want to go back to Watchguard.
