+ one to the blowing.

We have bitlocker on Vista laptops and Symantec Endpoint Encryption Full Disk
on the XP ones.

Bitlocker is nice: fast, easy to configure, easy to manage, totally transparent.

SEE is NOTA.

Too bad "no those executives can't upgrade to Vista, it would be too difficult
for them to learn"

Hitachi has a bunch of 7200 RPM Drive with Encryption. Been using them for
about a year, love em.

Software based encryption blows.

PGP appliance here, noticeable performance impact especially on laptops (5400
RPM drives). Saw this at Network World here in Dallas:
http://www.wave.com/products/eras.asp

They say that Seagate is offering a 7200 RPM drive with the FDE chip soon.
