Hopefully, if you're going for an online backup solution, you are defiantly 
keeping a local copy as well.

You should make sure that your data at the old company is purged. You'll have 
to have some kind of agreement that they won't re-use your data for some other 
purpose. There is probably already language in your contract about this with 
them. Hold them accountable.

Guys,    

     

We currently use an online service for our backup.  Our  contract runs out next 
month, and we are going to be going with another  provider.  Has anyone here 
done this, and if so, how did you address the retained  data?  Meaning the old 
generations of the different backups?
