Don't you need to specify the directory path?

when I tried it I got 

 

G:\test1>rmdir *.* /s
*.*, Are you sure (Y/N)? y
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

 

I *DID* try it first, so now you know why I suspect it of not working .... ( on 
an XP sp2 system )
