We use vRanger also. The provides a means of restoring the virtual machine. For speed of file restores, though, we still do D2D backups of the file systems separately.
No experience with the others. vRanger does have a means of restoring individual files, but it is very time-consuming, since in essence, you restore the whole machine and copy a few files from it, then destroy it. --BM -----Original Message----- From: Andy Ognenoff [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 05, 2008 14:58 To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: ESX backup solutions? We use vRanger Pro for ESX images - but we also backup in the guest too using our standard network backup software. - Andy O. ________________________________________ From: Damien Solodow [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 05, 2008 4:22 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: ESX backup solutions? We are looking at some packages for backups and the like of ESX guests. Most things I've seen say that VCB comes up a bit short, and the two products I've seen much about are vRanger, and esXpress. Any experiences, anecdotes, etc on either of these? Other options worth looking into?
