I tried contacting panologic to get a demo unit but never heard from them, I have some uses for that. It is a service based model though so you pay per month per unit.
In places were budget is tight, I did the same thing with older pc's, made linux based live cd's which run and then pop into an rdp session, no hard drive, minimal ram (64-128) and they run pretty nice. Having true thin clients has a lot of advantages with centralized mgmt and such though so if you have the choice obviously get real thin clients. The only thin clients I ever put into production were the bosanova ones, the client had a terminal server (2003) and had an as/400 which those provided. They were pretty nice, had a centralized firmware/deployment tool and remote tool to connect to them individually. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
