I personally would use PowerShell, but you can do it in pretty much anything, including:
1] PowerShell 2] VBScript 3] adfind/admod 4] dsquery/dsmod 5] C# / C++ 6] Perl / PHP / Ruby In the Active Directory Cookbook 2nd edition, you'll find recipes for renaming groups with VBScript/admod.
