Servers and workstations frequently use the same ethernet hardware and drivers (Broadcom or Intel FastE and GigE).

If a desktop fails autonegotiation, so will the servers.

I'm using Dell desktops & servers, white box desktops & servers; switches are Cisco, HP, Linksys, Dell, Extreme Networks, etc.

It's been years and years since I've seen something not autonegotiate properly.
